The Magical Music of Harry Potter - Live in Concert Uniondale Concert reviews
Great show by Odesz, awful venue, crappy re-schedule
I had tickets to The Magical Music of Harry Potter - Live in Concert in Sacramento on September 29. The only reason I knew is I had a friend who was going who saw on Instagram that the show had been cancelled because of an accident loading in the stage. That show would have started, but Ticketmaster failed to notify me until after the show.
A few weeks later, we find out that the show has been rescheduled to November in Wheatland. At least we didn鈥檛 get rain, but it鈥檚 not the same thing. Wheatland is not Sacramento. It鈥檚 pretty close, but it鈥檚 now a cold mid-fall show. We got one week to decide whether to keep our tickets or get a refund.
We decided to go. It ended up that everyone just stood in front of their seats and did what little dancing we could, because it was also 45 degrees outside so we had to dance if we wanted to stay warm. This is an EDM show. How you gonna put 80% of your audience in seats? The amphitheater had one tiny pit in front of the stage, and then a sea of seats. But we were packed into those stupid rows so tight we could barely move.
Tycho and The Magical Music of Harry Potter - Live in Concert were phenomenal, Drama was terrible, and if there was another opener I missed it because I had to drive 45 minutes on a Thursday evening right after getting off work instead of going to the venue that鈥檚 actually in my hometown.
